Van Gogh at Philadelphia Museum of Art

The Van Gogh exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art showed work from the artist's later years, focusing mostly on flowers and wheat fields while experimenting with color and form.  They had a wonderful gift shop, where I got the little notebook pictured above depicting "Almond Blossoms", which Van Gogh painted for his newly born nephew.

New Season, New Hair

I got these twists with extensions while in Kenya last week.  The experience was COMPLETELY different from getting them done anywhere in the USA.  For one, the 'shop' is located outside alongside at least 20 other hair stands. The set up is similar to that of a mall cafeteria with the shops located in close proximity, each with a different specialty.  I had three woman working on my head and the whole process took less than 2 hours.  Oh, and it cost a total of about $25 (in the USA it would cost about $200)!

Akira Men's Fashion Show at minibar

Friday evening, fashion-forward Chicagoans gathered at minibar, located on Halsted Street in "Boystown". The show featured everyday wear including many jackets and fitted pants alongside a collection of beach wear and a whole lot of abs.
